Junior Shoot May 20th 2017

CCB hosted their annual junior tournament on Saturday 20th May at their shooting ground on Mannings Lane in Upton Chester.

22 youngsters came from clubs all over the northwest including as far away as Blackburn, Lancs. They were aged from 10 to 16 years and shot a round according to their age group.

The shoot was very successful with one junior girl shooting a 6 gold end (this is 6 consecutive arrows in the gold of the target which is the highest scoring zone, worth 9 points each). There were a number of personal bests at the shoot including CCB’s Nicole McAulay, who has only been shooting a few months, and was first in her bow type and age group.

Jessica Pollitt also shot extremely well and although not winning a medal shot an excellent score, beating other shooters, some of whom were older than her.

The weather was sunny during the shoot with some wind but had improved a lot form the wind and heavy rain that had occurred earlier in the day.

Congratulations to all who took part, especially the medal winners and our own junior shooters.
