Archers of Cheshire
As a Society we took the pro active and early decision to be one of the first to suspend our activities of this amazing sport we love so much. When the government imposed the current restrictions on March 23rd we did this as it was felt that we could not, in good conscience, operate our sport whilst all official advice was to minimize unnecessary contact, maintain effective social distancing and promote a culture of self-isolation in order to slow the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic.
As a county we fully accept that this may not have been the best news for you and would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, hopefully in the short term. I believe that by doing our bit to protect not only our committee but you as archers and your families, also in the wider national interest it is the right thing to do.
Although there is no official end in sight I am hopeful that the restrictions will be eased in the not too distant future and we will be able to resume participation in this great sport of archery we so much love.
As your Chairman I would be very interested to hear from you as to how you may be passing your time away.
Some of you will no doubt be in the front line of this cruel pandemic and I would like to thank any of our County’s NHS staff and our members who still have to go to work to help our country’s moving cogs run smoothly. This outbreak has shown us all what a very fragile world we live in.
Stay safe and look after yourself and I will hopefully see you in the near future.
